Twenty-four year-old Nettie Britts, Chairman of the Richland County Young Republicans organization, was brutally beaten sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. She remains in serious condition at a Columbia, S.C. hospital.
Her attacker remains at large, and police currently have no suspect or motive in the case.
Britts has been active in numerous political campaigns, including the 2008 presidential campaign of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
A graduate of Ben Lippen High School and Midlands Technical College, she is currently a graduate student at the University of South Carolina.
Police are asking anyone with information that may aid in the apprehension of a suspect to call S.C. Crimestoppers at (888) CRIME-SC.
